ARMS Orientation for Families of Students with Special Needs

Special Education Supports:

  • Each student is on a team and in an advisory
  • Each student has a special education liaison who will serve as your primary contact person.
  • Special Education classes provided a continuum of supports based upon the needs identified by the Special Education team and documented in each student’s IEP.These include:
    • Consultation with SE providers
    • Inclusion support in general education classrooms
    • Skills classes in English Language Arts, Math, and Organizational Skills
    • Independent Study classes in English Language Arts, Math, Science and Social studies (small group, substantially separate classes)
    • Reading Tutorial
    • Speech and Language Services
    • Occupational Therapy
    • Physical Therapy
    • Counseling
  • Access to general education Math and English Language Arts Intervention classes.
  • Educational Team Leader is responsible for facilitating team meetings and assisting team members with special education procedures.

 

Specialized Programs:

  • AIMS program for students with autism spectrum disorders and neurological challenges
  • Essential Skills program for students with cognitive challenges
  • Bridges program for students with emotional challenges
